One dividing into two, the simple
transformation by which all of life's beauty
manifests, reflects itself in the subtle
geometry of The Mitosis Medallion. In it, the
largest square contained by a semi-circle
divides it's area one-into-two forming two,
new squares from the original. The two new
squares, like the original from which they
derived, are also (together) the largest two
squares capable of occupying the original's
semi-circle.
These simple proportions contain all of
the necessary data for both the cross-section
and face triangles of the Great Pyramid of
Giza in addition to being an abundant
generator of the Divine Proportion, also
known as the Golden Mean and phi ratio.
In The Geometry of Form the schematics
of this particular expression of MITOSIS
parallels the geometric equivalent of the
hydrogen atom, and is clearly seen to be
intimately related to the maximum omni-
symmetrical distortion of a volume unit.
